CATCO International AB
Energy and environment

Based on decades of participation in industrial efficiency improvement projects, also providing system deliveries including equipment from several suppliers, Catco has developed several highly interesting technologies.

Cost reduction in hot iron transport from reactor to EAF reduces energy need

Catco has improved a method for transport of hot iron in an inert environment directly from the iron making reactor to the electric arc furnace. This procedure substantially reduces energy consumption, reduces wear in the EAF, and thus reduces the environmental impact of iron manufacturing.

Gas cleaning projects in metallurgical industry

Smelters need efficient gas cleaning equipment in order not to pollute air and destroy neighbouring nature. Catco has carried out several projects which have substantially reduced pollution around metallurgical plants.

Waste-to-Energy

Research since some 40 years has shown that waste can be converted to energy. Various methods have been implemented, not all have functioned. Catco has been involved in efficiency improvement of the collection and reclaiming cycle, pyrolysis projects, and depolymerisation projects.
